A Few Words

About Us

Who are we?

We are Debbie and Graeme, and we are the proud humans behind Wild West Gourmet!

Since buying the business in December 2023, we've attended a range of markets and shows across the upper North Island. The highlight of each of these events, is meeting people who know and love our range of products. It's equally as thrilling to introduce newcomers to the range too.

What do we do?

Wild West Gourmet - where tradition meets innovation in every bottle and jar. We are proud artisan makers of aged small-batch Worcester sauce, relishes, chutneys, and BBQ sauce. Each product is crafted with care, following time-honoured methods and recipes that have been passed down through generations.

Our commitment to quality starts with our ingredients. We focus on sourcing locally grown produce, including bananas, kūmara, beetroot, and onions, ensuring that every bite bursts with fresh, authentic flavors. By supporting local growers, we not only guarantee the best ingredients but also contribute to our community's sustainability.

At Wild West Gourmet, we believe in doing our part for the environment. We catch rainwater for our production processes, use an eco-friendly septic system, and compost all vegetable and fruit trimmings. It's these practices that help us minimise our environmental footprint and create products that are as kind to the planet as they are delicious.

You can taste the difference that tradition, quality, and sustainability make with Wild West Gourmet.

About Graeme

Graeme is The Treasurer of Wild West Gourmet. Handling all of the financial side of the business (as well as joining in the creative), Graeme has his finger on the pulse here.

Having trained as an Accountant, Graeme rose to and held the position of CFO in a large, well known business in Whangārei for a number of years. In early 2020, Graeme made the decision to take the leap into self-employment, and his business Biz Assist Ltd was born.

Here, Graeme provides support and advice to small/medium sized businesses, and works with them to understand their numbers. With this information, his clients are better informed around how they can grow their businesses and create the right strategy to move forward with. He also donates his time as a Business Mentor.

In his spare time, Graeme enjoys planning new things for the section at Pakotai, and especially getting out on his ride on mower when the weather allows!

Family is important to him, and Graeme is an immensely proud father of two adult daughters, and a ginger cat daughter called Mick.

About Debbie

Debbie is The Creator at Wild West Gourmet. Combining the creative and flavourful, Debbie is always looking out for new, unique products to bring to the range.

Born and raised in Auckland, Debbie has worked in administrative roles for most of her career. For the past decade, Debbie has provided support to small businesses through virtual administration services.

Also an accomplished artist, Debbie has a passion for arts and crafts, and has produced a number of bowls and images using the technique of 'paper quilling'. Her pieces can be found as far afield as Texas! These days life is a bit busy to commit to commissions, but occasionally the paper and tools come out, and a creation is started - then left for next time.

In her spare time, Debbie loves to do simple crafts, such as crochet or paint by numbers, and is always tinkering with this website.

Debbie is an animal lover who has a passion for supporting Christchurch Bull Breed Rescue, and enjoys hers and Graeme's three  resident rescue cats!

We love meeting new, and existing lovers of the Wild West Gourmet range! If you see us at a show or market, please do come up and introduce yourself - we'd love to meet you! You can find our list of events and markets by clicking here, or by following our Facebook, Instagram, or Threads pages.
